A new outlet!

I am very pleased to announce that I have a new stockist in Bridlington!

My new stockist ‘Behind the Times’ is a fantastic quirky shop situated in the middle of Bridge Street in Bridlington. The owner is a very lovely lady who makes most of the products herself. The shop obtains the ethos of embracing the beautiful vintage delights balanced with an array of beautiful handmade products.

Also to stock this fantastic shop is the lovely Lauren fromLauren Cherice Designs. Lauren takes her inspirations mainly from our indigenous wildlife and creates a beautiful home ware collection.

Now my whole gifting range can be seen too in this delightful shop, including greetings cards, eco bags, make-up bags, pocket mirrors and my newest design my coin purses. All my designs are created from adapting my original artwork which is mostly inspired by Children’s literature.

Why not pop along and see for yourself!

You-tube Video!

Do you want to see my first ever you-tube video?

The Guerilla Galleries team asked a few weeks ago if I would do them a 3 min video talking about myself and my work...

I had lots of help from a very special person in my life to do this, so I am very grateful (thank you)!

Let me know what you think!

New ArtWork 2014

Here is my latest artwork slightly inspired by this classic 1960’s American children’s book…

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak
I’ve always loved this story and have felt very inspired by it of late! If you are unfamiliar with the story, it follows the adventure of a little boy called Max, who one evening is very naughty after he begins playing in his wolf suit. His mother sends Max to his bed, but his bedroom turns into a forest and a boat appears taking him on a long journey to an island of wild things (it is a fantastic story so have a read if you haven’t already)!

Diverted to Where the Wild Things Are! | Mixed Media on Canvas | Leanne Broadbent | 2014 |

My picture is titled ‘Diverted to Where the Wild Things Are’ and as always I have added my own twist of ghost like creatures looming in the background and also includes traffic cones and a road sign which I particularly love.

What do you think? I hope you like it! ;)

New News for 2014!

Already this year I have been involved in the exhibition ‘Escape to Happiness’ at Guerilla Galleries – London! A small selection of the artwork is still available to view or buy online at: http://guerilla.recondo.co.uk/tag/leanne-broadbent/

I am now working on a brand-new design to launch this year! I’m still in the design stages working on colour but it should be completed soon (you’ll be first to view the product when it is finished!).

I also found out just before Christmas that I had been selected again for the North Yorkshire Open Studios 2014 event in June – more details will be shared closer to the event!

But for now I would like to wish all of my followers a Happy New Year and best wishes to you all ;)
