More Than Just a Pretty Face!

I have been fortunate enough to be selected for another exhibition at the Back o’ the Shop Gallery and again look forward to previewing the work. I was particularly pleased to be selected for this exhibition as it requires the viewer to look beyond the human form and to read deeper into the narratives that each artist has created.

More than just a Pretty Face’ is a group exhibition taking place at the Back o’ the Shop Gallery in Terrington, near York. From Saturday 1st September till Saturday 27th October viewers will be able to observe artists selected by curator Shelley Hughes including Leanne Broadbent, Bren Head, Nicola Taylor, Bridget Askew, Daniel Pape, Jack Hutchinson, Kate Bentley and Jen Ricketts.

My selected works take a glimpse at the fantasy world of children’s literature but combine, reflex and comment upon contemporary society, creating contradictory images between the realm of reality and the imagination.

The exhibition runs until Saturday 27th October and is not one to be missed!

Lauren Cherice Designs

Being a person of a creative nature you come into contact with new art and chance talented artists frequently. One such artist upon recent acquaintance is Lauren from Lauren Cherice Designs who is as lovely as she is brilliant, demonstrating wonderful print making skills and in particular her screen prints. She manages to make the world of fine art accessible producing items that would be suitable for any modern home.

I am lucky enough to be working alongside Lauren and some other very talented artists on a new project to begin next April 2013 (more info on that later!).

The Journal Listings for July 2012

Here is an appearance in The Journal Magazine July listings:

If you haven’t already been, go and visit the ‘East Coast Artists’ exhibition at the Back o’ the Shop Gallery in Terrington, it runs until the 25th August.

The gallery is nicely situated quite close to Castle Howard in the beautiful scenery of the Howardian Hills, which could be visited and then go and relax at the gallery by drinking tea and enjoying the wonderful art work- sounds like a good day to me!
