The preview of ‘Awakening’ held at Gallery Forty-Nine on Friday 2^nd March was an enjoyable event with pleasant company, a glass of wine and of course Fantastic Art work!

Awakening is a group exhibition which includes some of my new works alongside other artists including Claire West, Corinne Young, Elaine Turnbull, and featuring Dora Holzhanbler.

If you did not make the preview the exhibition is running until the end of April and is well worth a visit!

New Work for South Street Gallery

Here is one of my new art works that I dropped off at South Street Gallery in Scarborough earlier this week. It is another piece from my collection inspired by C.S Lewis's 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe'.

Junior Artists Workshops!

It has been a very exciting start to the New Year with lots of exhibition line ups and events that will keep me on my toes all year!

On Saturday I began my first Junior Artist Workshops, a 6 week course for 7-11 year olds learning about new techniques and working with new materials. We all had a great time and it was such a pleasure to meet such clever talented children.

I am expecting mini masterpieces over the next five weeks!

Awakening

Here is a preview of one of my original images that will be included in the exhibition 'Awakening' from Friday 3rd February - April 2012.





Awakening is a group exhibition featuring artists inspired by the enchantment of spring, tantalising our senses with an array of colours that capture the beauty of the season.

The Exhibition will be held at Gallery Forty-Nine, Bridlington where my work can be viewed alongside other featured artists such as Elaine Turnbull, Meg Burkill, George Hainsworth, Dora Holzhanbler and Giuliana Lazzerini.

Winter Wonderland

Here is one of my latest images which I thought was very appropriate for this festive season. It is based on the classic tale by C.S. Lewis 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe'. The scene is set when the children emerge from the wardrobe and into Narnia!

 

I would also just like to add that I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2012!

East Coast Open

I am pleased to announce that both of my art works have been selected for the East Coast Open Exhibition at Scarborough Art Gallery.

The Exhibition runs from Saturday 17^th December till Sunday 12^th February 2012 (Open: Tue - Sun, 10am – 5pm) (Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year’s Day) and has been described as becoming “one of the most popular Opens in the region”. Art works were selected by a panel of judges including: Andy Dalton, from the Ryedale Folk Museum; Stuart Cameron, from Crescent Arts; Sally Taylor, a highly successful Artist and Jan Bee Brown, a Freelance Curator working with Scarborough Museums Trust.
